Hmmm.  I say that a lot lately…. back in 1969, I took Psych 15 at the University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) – a huge class as Intro Pscyh seems always to be, everywhere.  It was taught in a classroom, but on TV – that is, the course Prof gave a recorded TV lecture, while a Teaching Assistant (a grad student) was present to answer questions and pose a few after the TV lecture ended.  This link describes an updated version of that experience, but only slightly updated.  I have no idea why students have to be present in a classroom at a set time for an online course.  Hmmmmm.  There I go again.
